![]() ![]() ![]() What’s particularly impressive about the 4K60 S+ is the HEVC chip which allows for lossless encoding for reliable picture quality with little to no artifacts over the native picture. We can only recommend this to seasoned streamers looking for an upgrade or those with serious cash to burn. With its asking price of $399.99 / £389.99 / AU $628, this isn’t going to be the capture card that you start with. ![]() These innovations don’t come cheap, though ultimately, that’s what stops the Elgato 4K60 S+ from taking the top spot. However, its biggest selling point is that you can record entirely without a computer, as it can record footage to an SD card. I will have to look into it some more to see if there are alternatives to the Elgato HD that would make life a lot simpler. In terms of raw features and resolution support, the Elgato 4K60 S+ can certainly be considered the best capture card for 4K. Another limitation is that, like in the first method, both the game audio and mic audio are coming into OBS on the same device (my interface). ![]() While this does allow me to use the two gain controls on the interface to individually control the levels for game audio and mic, as far as I can tell this makes it impossible to control the game volume for myself without going into the game's menu (thus also changing the levels going into OBS). With a splitter I can get the game audio to go to my headphones and to the second channel of my interface. Limitation with this is that I can't hear anything going on on the PC, which I suppose I can live with.ģ) This is a pretty redundant method but it works. I can control the volume for myself in the monitor's menu, which is a bit fiddly but it works. It is more limited than OBS but I know from experience it works just fine.Ģ) Plug my headphones into my monitor, which allows me to hear the game in real time and use my good mic with my interface. Limitation with this setup is that all the audio comes into OBS on the same device, meaning there is no way (as far as I know) to control the game audio output and voice output separately.Īlternatively, I could just stream directly from the PS4 without OBS. I can still do live commentary, the game audio is not delayed but it comes at the cost of ear comfort and sound quality for me (because my Audio Technicas are better). to allow audio to go through the control's output AND HDMI, I'd be very glad to hear it.ġ) As mentioned in the OP, the simplest would be to use the Turtle Beach headset into the PS4. If there is a way to get rid of this problem, i.e. If this weren't the case, I could just use the control to hear the game while still having it go through the Elgato into OBS. A big hinderance and a problem I know many people complain about is that as soon as you plug anything into the control, all the HDMI audio is muted. Also, I can't hear myself, which isn't a huge deal but I find it hard to talk when I'm hearing myself all muffled.Īre there any more obvious routing options I'm missing? I'm sure there has to be an easy way to do it but I struggling to see it.Īfter tinkering for a while, these are the only three solutions I could come with that aren't unnecessarily complicated. That way I can hear the game without delay but I'm not able to hear any audio from the PC. One thing I just thought of (way too late but still) is to plug my headphones into the controller. Is there a way to make it so I'm hearing the PS4 without delay? In my mind this would be the ideal solution because I coul hear the game without delay + whatever audio I have coming from the PC (music, stream alerts.) + monitor myself. When I use the Elgato with OBS and use my interface for all the audio, I can hear whatever is going on on the PS4 but it's delayed by 1-2 seconds. Then I can hear the game without any delay and all the audio (game and my voice) goes straight to OBS, unless I'm very much mistaken. The simplest solution I can think of is to just plug the headset into the PS4. The goal: being able to stream PS4 games while using my normal headphones (the PX22 isn't nearly as comfy) and my good studio mic. ![]()
